Product Description

French luxury jeweler and watch manufacturer. Every object to leave the watchmakers workshops of Cartier during over 150-year-long tradition has become a cult object.  And every creation has screamed past the confines of its guild to make history, whether as a small or large work of art.  From the first water resistant wristwatch, created by Louis Cartier for the Sultan of Marrakesh, a passionate swimmer to the the fairly unchanged "Santos" which a hundred years ago graced the wrist of aviation pioneer Alberto Santos-Dumont. Cartier has always touched a nerve in its loyal buying public, binding it to the philosophy of the house of Cartier with fine, invisible golden strings.

The company has a long and distinguished history of serving royalty, as well as stars and celebrities. One Prince of Wales hailed Cartier as "Joaillier des Rois, Roi des Joailliers" (Jeweller to Kings, King of Jewellers"). Cartier received an order for 27 tiaras for the coronation of the future British King. King Edward VII was crowned in 1902 and in 1904 he honoured the Company with the Royal warrant of supplier to the Royal Court of England. Similar warrants soon followed from the courts of Spain, Portugal, Russia, Siam, Greece, Serbia, Belgium, Romania, Egypt and finally Albania, and also from the House of Orleans and the Principality of Monaco.
