In 1868, an American engineer and watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones (1841–1916) who had been a director of E. Howard & Co., in Boston, then America's leading watchmaking company, founded the International Watch Company (IWC) with the intention of combining the craftsmanship of the Swiss with the modern engineering technology from the U.S. to manufacture movements and watch parts for the American market.
All important Swiss watch brands are headquartered in western Switzerland. Well, not quite all. IWC is located on the eastern side of Switzerland which is German-speaking, and has been holding its own for more then 140 years against the superior numbers of firms found on French-speaking side, successfully waving its horological flag in the quite little city of Schaffhausen. This location is marketed by the company instead of the usual "Swiss Made" The intent is to emphasize "German Engineering". For several years now, the brand has been expanding at a considerable rate.
We provide warranty coverage of 1 year from the date of purchase on all pre-owned watches that we sell, and 2 years on all new items. Our warranty covers the watch movement only.
