Graham is an unrepentantly English name for an exquisitely English watch. If you're interested in the minutiae of watch making, Graham was the surname of George Graham, born in 1673, master watchmaker who lived in Fleet Street in London. The great George Graham is one of the most important figures in watchmaking: he was not only namesake of the cylinder escapement from 18th century, but was also said to be the inventor of the chronograph. Graham even retrieved the contract from the Greenwich Royal Observatory to build its master clock. He was also included into the Royal Society, an organization that was originally reserved for scientists and astronomers only. His inventions made Graham famous throughout Europe, even if he had none of them patented - his moral ideals did not allow him to! He preferred to share his knowledge with his colleagues.
The Swiss group The British Watchmakers has breathed new life into the old name Graham with unusual watch creations. The founder and managing director Eric Loth remains fixated on "British" topic, which is a matter of pride and affection for him. The engineer has a particular affinity for sporty extremes and quirky elements. The brand beautifully honors the enduring heritage of the inventor of chronograph.
