Laco Florenz Erbstück Manual Wind Pilot Watch
The Laco Florenz Erbstück is a handwound German pilot watch inspired by the original 55 mm observation watches of the 1940s. Its 42 mm case, oversized crown, Baumuster A dial, and riveted pilot strap preserve the visual language of a historic flieger while offering the reliability of a modern mechanical watch.
What sets the Florenz Erbstück apart is Laco’s elaborate hand-finishing process. The case, dial, hands, and strap are individually aged by hand to recreate the natural wear, patina, and character usually found only on true vintage pilot watches. The result is a piece that feels storied from the moment it is worn, yet remains mechanically sound and ready for daily enjoyment.
The Florenz Erbstück is one of the most distinctive watches in the Laco collection because it offers something beyond vintage styling alone. Each watch is intentionally aged by hand, giving it the look and emotional pull of a historic aviation instrument without the fragility or uncertainty of an actual antique. For collectors drawn to military design, German watchmaking, and watches with immediate character, this is one of the strongest storytelling pieces in the entire lineup.
Why Collectors Choose the Florenz Erbstück
Hand-aged individuality: Every Erbstück watch is aged by hand, making each piece visually unique.
Historic flieger design: The Baumuster A dial, oversized crown, and FL23883 engraving recall the original Beobachtungsuhren of the 1940s.
Manual wind movement: The handwound Laco 210 movement adds a more traditional, collector-focused experience.
Vintage character, modern dependability: It delivers the visual appeal of an old pilot watch with the practicality of modern construction.
Made in Germany: Built with the precision, restraint, and watchmaking heritage that define Laco.
What Makes an Erbstück Watch Unique
“Erbstück” means heirloom in German. Laco created this collection to capture the feeling of a watch that has already lived through decades of history.
To achieve this, the case, dial, hands, and strap are all aged individually by hand using a work-intensive process without mechanical aids. Scratches, discoloration, and signs of wear are recreated to look natural and authentic rather than artificially uniform.
Because of this process, no two Florenz Erbstück watches are exactly alike. Each one is truly individual with its own balance of character, patina, and vintage presence.
Aging Levels
Level 1: Light aging with only subtle traces of wear and very small scratches or grooves.
Level 2: The standard version shown by Laco, with normal scratches and visible aging characteristics. This is the default version if no special level is requested.
Level 3: Strong aging with heavier signs of wear. Laco notes that this version may include broken-out parts of luminous material on the hands, which can reduce readability.
