The Laco Westerland belongs to the Pilot Watch Original collection, a series that recreates the historic observation watches used by aviators for navigation. Its 45 mm sandblasted stainless steel case, oversized crown, and highly legible Type A pilot dial reflect the functional design language of the original flight instruments.
The watch is powered by the hand-wound Laco 210 movement based on the Sellita SW210, chosen for reliability and mechanical clarity. The dial features large luminous Arabic numerals and thermally blued steel hands, ensuring strong legibility in low light conditions while maintaining the distinctive character of historic pilot watches.
Curator Note
The Westerland captures the spirit of the original Baumuster A pilot watch. The simple dial layout with its triangle marker at 12 o’clock was designed so pilots could orient the watch instantly during flight calculations. Combined with the traditional riveted leather strap and large case, the watch preserves the authentic presence of historic aviation instruments.
