The Laco Neapel 39 gives the traditional German pilot watch a more contemporary personality. Its black Type A dial retains the direct organization and immediate readability of a historic aviation instrument, while orange numerals, markers, hands, and strap stitching introduce a confident modern accent.

The combination is expressive without compromising functionality. A slim bezel gives the dial a generous visual presence, while the compact 39 mm stainless steel case keeps the watch balanced and comfortable for regular wear.

Italian Color, German Pilot-Watch Design

Laco created the Neapel and its Type B companion, the Palermo, as colorful interpretations of its classic pilot-watch designs. The radiant orange accents take their inspiration from the orange trees associated with southern Italy. On the Neapel, that color brings warmth and visual energy to the straightforward Type A display.

The Type A Pilot Dial

The Type A layout is the cleaner of the two traditional pilot-watch configurations. Large Arabic hour numerals occupy the main dial, surrounded by a precise minute track. This arrangement gives the hours immediate visual priority and keeps the display exceptionally easy to read.

At 12 o’clock, the familiar orientation triangle and two dots replace the numeral. This historic detail was developed to help the wearer identify the upright position of the dial quickly, even in poor visibility.

Orange Details with a Functional Purpose

The Arabic numerals, minute markings, orientation triangle, and hands use orange-colored Super-LumiNova. The black calf-leather strap continues the color theme with contrasting orange stitching, creating a cohesive appearance while preserving the strong legibility expected from a Laco pilot watch.

Automatic Mechanical Performance

The Neapel 39 is powered by the Laco 2S automatic movement, based on the Miyota 82S0 caliber. It provides approximately 42 hours of power reserve and includes a hacking-seconds function, allowing the seconds hand to stop when setting the time. The movement can be viewed through the sapphire crystal exhibition caseback.

At 39 mm in diameter, 11.55 mm high, and 46.5 mm from lug to lug, the Neapel offers the visual clarity of a pilot watch without oversized proportions. Its complete weight of approximately 80 grams, including the leather strap, makes it comfortable for extended everyday wear.
