The Laco Aachen Blaue Stunde demonstrates how expressive a traditional German pilot watch can become through color. Its deep blue dial features a fine sunray finish that shifts from restrained navy to a brighter blue as the light changes, giving the functional Type-B navigator layout a more refined, contemporary presence.
The current version is fitted with a grey two-piece nylon strap. Slightly thicker and more refined than the earlier single-piece NATO-style strap, it complements the matt-finished stainless-steel case while keeping the complete watch comfortably light at approximately 88 grams.

For someone drawn to authentic flieger design but looking for something less expected than another black-dial pilot watch, the Blaue Stunde is an easy choice. It retains the clarity and history of the Aachen while adding enough color and polish to work beyond casual or aviation-inspired settings.
The Blaue Stunde Dial
“Blaue Stunde” refers to the blue hour the transition around dawn or dusk when the sky takes on a deep blue tone. Laco translates that changing light through a sunray dial with an outer minute scale and inner hour ring. Arabic numerals, indices and matte-black hands are treated with Super-LumiNova C3 for strong nighttime visibility.
Mechanical Pilot-Watch Character
Inside is the Laco 2S automatic movement, based on the Miyota 82S0. It supports automatic and manual winding, provides approximately 42 hours of running time and includes a second-hand stop for precise setting. A sapphire exhibition caseback provides a view of the movement without compromising the watch’s practical everyday construction.
