The Laco Augsburg Grau 42 brings a restrained monochromatic character to the traditional Type A German pilot-watch layout. Its matt grey dial, satin-finished stainless-steel case, and grey riveted leather strap create a refined tonal appearance while preserving the direct readability associated with a classic flieger watch.
Thermally blued hands provide the defining contrast. Their metallic frames shift from vivid blue to nearly black as the angle of the light changes. Super-LumiNova BGW9 on the hands, numerals, and markings appears crisp white during the day and produces a light blue-green glow in darker conditions.
Monochromatic Pilot-Watch Design
The Type A dial uses large Arabic hour numerals, a clear minute track, and the orientation triangle at 12 o'clock for immediate reading. The silvery satin finish of the case complements the matt grey dial, while the thermally blued hands introduce a controlled accent without disturbing the clean instrument-inspired design.
At 42 mm in diameter and 50 mm from lug to lug, the Augsburg Grau 42 has the substantial wrist presence expected from a pilot watch. Its 11.7 mm height keeps the profile balanced, while the complete watch weighs approximately 91 grams including the leather strap.
Inside is the automatic Laco 2S movement, based on the Miyota 82S0. It supports automatic and manual winding, includes a stop-seconds function for more precise time setting, and provides approximately 42 hours of running time. The movement can be viewed through the exhibition caseback.
