Created exclusively for the United States and limited to only 50 pieces, the Junghans Telemeter Edition USA revisits one of the most distinctive chronographs in the company's history. Its design traces back to 1951, when Junghans introduced a chronograph combining telemeter and tachymeter scales within one beautifully organized dial.

This special edition brings that mid-century instrument character to life through a dark blue dial, a warm yellow-gold PVD-coated case, vintage-inspired luminous details, and carefully placed red and white accents. Despite the amount of information displayed, the design remains balanced, clear, and immediately recognizable as Junghans.

The result is a mechanical chronograph that feels historical without feeling dated. It has the presence of a vintage aviation instrument, while its proportions, materials, and construction make it comfortable for modern everyday wear.

Two Historic Scales

The telemeter scale measures distance through the relationship between light and sound. Start the chronograph when an event is seen, such as a flash of lightning, and stop it when the sound is heard. The scale then indicates the approximate distance between the wearer and the event.

The tachymeter measures average speed over a known distance. Together, the two scales recall a time when a wristwatch could serve as a practical measuring instrument for pilots, engineers, and observers. Today, they give the Telemeter its technical depth and unmistakable personality.

Designed to Be Worn

At 40.8 mm in diameter, the Telemeter has enough presence for its detailed chronograph display without feeling oversized. The curved case, domed sapphire crystal, and compact arrangement of the two subdials preserve the elegant proportions associated with Junghans design.

The yellow-gold PVD finish adds warmth rather than flash, especially against the dark blue dial and matching embossed leather strap. It is distinctive enough to feel special, yet refined enough to wear with a jacket, knitwear, or a simple shirt.

Automatic Chronograph Movement

Inside is the self-winding Junghans Caliber J880.3. The movement provides small seconds, central chronograph seconds, and a 30-minute chronograph counter. It offers a power reserve of up to 42 hours and can be viewed through the transparent case back.
